The University Department of Chemistry, Kolhan University, Chaibasa was established on August 13, 2009. The University Post Graduate Department of Chemistry is a well-regarded department of Kolhan University, Chaibasa, known for its teaching and research activities. In addition to the University Post Graduate Department, other colleges engaged in Post Graduate teaching in Chemistry include Jamshedpur Cooperative College, Jamshedpur; Tata College, Chaibasa; and Karim City College, Jamshedpur. The University is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has 20 constituent and 34 affiliated colleges. It offers a wide range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Arts, Science, and Commerce.
